TESDA Horticulture NCII

    TESDA Horticulture NCII course is the acquisition of skills and training on how to successfully perform farming operations like the production and harvesting of food crops such as vegetables and fruits. The course would also include performing post harvest operations of major lowland and semi-temperate vegetable crops and post harvest operations of major tropical fruits.    

    It also involves acquiring skills with massive importance for the improved and better performance of the practice such as:

    1. How to apply safety measures in farm operations;
    2. How to use farm tools and equipment;
    3. How to perform estimation and basic calculations;
    4. How to conduct pre-horticultural farm operations;
    5. How to produce vegetables;
    6. How to produce fruit bearing crops;
    7. How to perform post harvest operations of major tropical fruits; and
    8. How to perform post harvest operations of major lowland and semi-temperate vegetable crops.     

    HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO STUDY A CERTAIN COURSE?

    In order to accomplish the short term course, one has to attend classes in a minimum of 1 440 hours. The schedule will depend on the TESDA training centers you will be enrolling at.

    What are the requirements for enrolling in TESDA Horticulture Course?

    1. PSA Birth Certificate
    2. High School or College Diploma
    3. Certified True Copy of Official Transcript of Records or Form 137
    4. Certificate of Good Moral Character or GMRC
    5. 1 x 1 and/or 2 x 2 pictures

    TESDA Horticulture Certification and Assessment

    In every course to be taken, there will be assessments that will be made to gauge the performance of the students. It will be the time to prove the depth of their learning. It will also serve as a knowing stage of their strengths and weaknesses that can either be kept or improved.  The assessors of the course are highly respected and qualified to assess the performance of the one undergoing the test. 

    A person enrolled in this short term course may be required to undergo an assessment to determine his or her competency. In order to be a certified NC II holder, one has to undergo the said assessment before the end of course. It would be under respected and qualified professors who had been trained in testing students in this field.
